Blizzard Evelyn forces Timber Rattlers to move games
GRAND CHUTE (WLUK) -- There will be no baseball at Fox Cities Stadium this week.
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers have moved their three-game series against the Kane County Cougars to Peoria, Illinois because of snow from Blizzard Evelyn.
“This is a tough situation for everyone in the area and it would have been impossible to play any games at Neuroscience Group Field this week,” Timber Rattlers president Rob Zerjav said in a news release. “You have to get creative when one of the worst snowstorms in the history of Wisconsin hammers you before the start of a homestand. This was the best option.”
The series begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. First pitch for games two and three is set for noon Wednesday and Thursday.
Admission to the games is free, but the Peoria Chiefs will accept donations for the United Way.
The Timber Rattlers will stay in Peoria to play the Chiefs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They will return home on Monday to begin a seven-game homestand.
Fans with tickets to any of this week's games may exchange them for tickets to any regular season game, beginning Tuesday at the Timber Rattlers ticket office. Call (920) 733-4152 for more information.
