MINNEAPOLIS (WLUK) -- Even though the Green Bay Packers are not playing in the Super Bowl this Sunday, they were mentioned during the halftime show press conference Thursday.

When a reporter asked Super Bowl halftime performer and known Packers fan Justin Timberlake if he was cheering for the New England Patriots this Sunday, Timberlake replied, “Go Pack Go.”

Back in October, the former N’Sync member told NFL Network he would love to perform at halftime in a Packers Super Bowl match-up.

Timberlake, a Tennessee native, says he became a Packers fan because of Brett Favre.

On Thursday, Timberlake talked about his halftime show, ruling out an N’Sync reunion but promising music to dance to.

This is the singer’s third Super Bowl halftime appearance. His most controversal appearance was in 2004 with a "wardrobe malfunction" while peforming with Janet Jackson.

His new album “Man of the Woods” released this week.

The New England Patriots will take on the Philadelphia Eagles at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
