GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- One day after the Green Bay Packers find its new general manager, Mike McCarthy, reportedly finds his new defensive coordinator.

Former Cleveland Browns coach, Mike Pettine, is reportedly the team's choice.

Pettine, a Pennsylvania native, was the Head Coach of the Cleveland Browns for two seasons (2014-2015), compiling a 10-22 record.

Prior to that, he left the New York Jets for the Buffalo Bills, along with Rex Ryan in 2013, after running the New York Jets defense from 2009 to 2012.

He's been out of the NFL the last two seasons. Similar to McCarthy, Pettine is a Pennsylvania native. McCarthy was the wide receivers coach in 1992, Pettine came to the program the following year as a graduate assistant.

The news was first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.
