GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- While the Green Bay Packers play in the last game of its 2017 season on Sunday against the Detroit Lions, ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that defensive Coordinator Dom Capers will not return to the team next season.

Capers spoke to the media on Thursday and was asked whether he thought he'd be back with the Packers next season.

"One thing I've learned through a long career is you don't spend any time in this business concerning yourself with things you don't have any control over so you put the blinders on, you go to work you try to be consistent the way you do things and you try to get guys ready to play. My plans are from week to week in this business. You learn that after 32 years in the league, " said Capers.

Capers has been the defensive coordinator for the team since 2009, including winning a Super Bowl in 2010. Capers has also spent time as a head coach, coaching the Carolina Panthers in 1995-98, and the Texans in 2001-2005.
