GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Long-time Packers defensive coordinator, Dom Capers, was fired, NFL says.

After the Packers loss to the Detroit Lions Sunday, it was reported it would be Capers' last game with the team.

Capers spoke to the media last week and was asked whether he thought he'd be back with the Packers next season.

"One thing I've learned through a long career is you don't spend any time in this business concerning yourself with things you don't have any control over so you put the blinders on, you go to work you try to be consistent the way you do things and you try to get guys ready to play. My plans are from week to week in this business. You learn that after 32 years in the league," said Capers.

Capers spent nine seasons as the Packers defensive coordinator.
