GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy spoke at a Tech Summit at Lambeau Field on Monday.
When Murphy was asked about the upcoming schedule for the Packers, he interjected and made a joke about the Aaron Rodgers situation.
"Yeah and you know, we've got no other news really going on," Murphy said with a laugh. "I would love to tell you everything you want to know about Aaron Rodgers and the Jets but I'm sworn to secrecy not to say anything."
Aaron Rodgers went on the Pat McAfee show last Wednesday and said he intends to play for the New York Jets next season.
A trade has not yet been finalized between the two teams.
Prior to Rodgers' announcement, Murphy spoke during an interview at the WIAA state girls basketball tournament on March 10.
Murphy confirmed the Packers gave the Jets permission to speak with the four-time MVP quarterback.
When asked if there was a scenario where Rodgers could return as the team's starting quarterback next season, Murphy's response seemed to indicate the franchise was ready to move on.
"Yeah, I mean if things don't work out the way we would want them yeah," Murphy said during the interview. "He's obviously a great player and four-time MVP but you know, I think it's trying to find what he wants and what we want and hopefully we can find a win-win situation."
