Gillett's Dan Woodke wins Sturgeon Bay National Walleye Tour event

Pro angler and Gillette native Dan Woodke won the Cabela's National Walleye Tour event in Sturgeon Bay on Friday with a two-day weight total of 74.94 lbs. The amount was more than five pounds heavier than second place winner Tom Keenan (69.23 lbs.)

"It's been a long week," said Woodke. "I can't wait to get home and relax. I put a lot of work into this. I've been trying to do this for years and to go against these anglers and be standing here, I don't know what to say. They are just phenomenal anglers and I can't believe I pulled it off."

Woodke took home $17,000 and a new boat for his winning effort as part of a $400,000 cash and prize purse.
