ASHWAUBENON (WLUK) -- If you're going to the Green Bay Gamblers game Dec. 30, bring along an extra pair of mittens. Or two or three.

The game against the Tri-City Storm is the annual Mitten Toss. When the Gamblers score their first goal, fans will be asked to throw mittens onto the ice. The mittens will be collected and donated to local children in need.

The Gamblers say about 11,500 pairs of mittens have been collected since the first Mitten Toss night in 2009.

The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. at the Resch Center.
