DNR releases deer harvest totals for opening weekend

The number of deer harvested during opening weekend of gun deer hunting season is down from last year.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reports 114,472 deer were harvested in the state Saturday and Sunday.

The DNR says of those deer, 63,700 were antlered and 50,772 were antlerless.

In 2015, 120,276 deer were harvested opening weekend.
