St. Norbert wins program's 5th national championship

LAKE PLACID, NY (WLUK) -- St. Norbert won Saturday's National Championship game over Salve Regina after a double overtime goal from Brad Pung at Herb Brooks Arena.

The Green Knights went up 2-0 in the second period, but Salve Regina evened the score at 2 in the third.

After a stalemate in the first overtime, which Salve Regina out shot St. Norbert 14 to 9, Tanner Froese fed Brad Pung who clinched the championship halfway through the second overtime.

Dominic Sacco and Luke Davison also scored for St. Norbert. Goaltender T.J. Black had 41 saves.

This is the program's 5th national title since it won its first in 2008.
