GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- A game between Wisconsin and Notre Dame at Lambeau Field? It's in the works, according to Green Bay Packers president/CEO Mark Murphy.

In a news conference after the team's annual shareholders meeting, Murphy was asked about a report in the Chicago Tribune that the schools are trying to schedule a series with one game at Lambeau Field and another game at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Murphy said another major college game would fit the Packers' goal of having a big event inside Lambeau Field every year.

"I thought last year the Wisconsin-LSU game was very positive, and the Billy Joel concert. I think a Notre Dame-Wisconsin game would be very special," he said.

According to the Chicago Tribune report, the games would be played sometime in the 2020s.

Wisconsin and Notre Dame have met 16 times, with the Fighting Irish holding an 8-6-2 edge. The teams have not met since a 31-7 Notre Dame victory in Madison in 1964.
