GREEN BAY - The Green Bay athletic program introduced Charles Guthrie as the ninth athletic director in school history at the Kress Center earlier today.
Guthrie comes to UW-Green Bay after spending the past three years as the athletic director at Division II's San Francisco State.
This will be his sixteenth year in college athletics, which included a stop at Colgate, where he worked alongside Packers CEO & President Mark Murphy.
The Phoenix programs feature several veteran coaches such as Kevin Borseth (women's basketball) and Linc Darner (men's basketball).
Guthrie told the media earlier today, he's excited to continue to build on the success these staffs have already brought to Green Bay.
"I like the fact that they have really solid coaches here and a successful coaching staff," Guthrie said. "I can come in and enhance their experience, to go to the next level. Really excited about that. "
Fantastic men's and women's basketball coaches and now you see men's soccer taking off. The blueprint is set, now it's time to enhance and see where we can go from there."
