Green Bay, WI--The St. Norbert men's basketball team held its 17th annual steak fry on Wednesday in memory of longtime Green Bay and SNC assistant Woody Wilson who passed away from cancer in 2018.

Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard was the keynote speaker.

He launched the Garding Against Cancer initiative a year after his dad passed away in 2015.

Their event raised nearly $900,000 last week with Packers coach Matt LaFleur the speaker.

The steak fry will help pay for the Green Knight's trip to Italy next week.

"I've known coach Grzesk for a long, long time and I remember him back when he played in high school and for Coach Bennett at Green Bay," Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard said.

"He comes down and works our camps every year, has for a long time. So it's good to be able to get out and finally found a date in May that would work."

"I've asked him the last number of years and he's just been so busy and he's always responded and said if his scheduled ever allowed him, he'd be happy to do it. It just worked out this year and we're just really thankful," St. Norbert head coach Gary Grzesk said.
