No. 20 Phoenix tough out win over Raiders

Trailing by as many as eight points, the No. 20 Green Bay women rallied in the final two quarters to top Wright State 75-68 Saturday afternoon at the Kress Center.

GREEN BAY - It wasn't easy but few wins are atop the Horizon League this time of year.

Trailing by as many as eight points, the No. 20 Green Bay women rallied in the final two quarters to top Wright State 75-68 Saturday afternoon at the Kress Center.

Notre Dame Academy graduate Allie LeClaire led the Phoenix with 22 points, while fellow senior Jessica Lindstrom added 19 and seven rebounds.

With the victory, head coach Kevin Borseth's squad improves to 21-2 overall and a conference best 11-1 mark.

"We just played, we showed we have the ability to outscore somebody and that's a big thing," Borseth said. "I thought our kids played with a lot of composure when we had to. I thought defensively in the third quarter we got back in the game. We hit some buckets, so it was a big win."

Green Bay now begins a stretch of four-straight on the road, starting with their I-43 showdown at UW-Milwaukee next Saturday. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
