Fielder, Jenkins headline Brewers' Walk of Fame and Wall of Honor inductees
MILWAUKEE (WLUK) -- Power hitters, championship-building general managers and a Milwaukee Braves star will all be honored at Miller Park this summer.
The Milwaukee Brewers announced that former first baseman Prince Fielder and general managers Harry Dalton and Doug Melvin will be inducted to the Brewers Wall of Honor. Fielder hit 230 home runs and recorded 656 RBI with the Brewers from 2005-11. Dalton was the team's longest-tenured general manager, serving from 1978-91. His leadership saw the Brewers reach their only World Series in 1982. Melvin was GM from 2002-15 and built the team that won the 2011 National League Central Division championship.
The Wall of Honor ceremony is set for July 21.
Meanwhile, former outfielder Geoff Jenkins is set to be enshrined in the Brewers Walk of Fame on July 24. An All-Star in 2003, Jenkins finished his career ranked among the top 10 in franchise history in home runs, slugging percentage, RBI, hits and runs. He will be the 20th member of the Walk of Fame.
Finally, Bob Buhl will become the 17th member of the Milwaukee Braves Wall of Honor on May 24. Buhl pitched for the Braves from 1953-62 and went 109-72 with a 3.27 ERA and 5 saves.
