Emily Matesic is a general assignment reporter for FOX 11 News. She comes to FOX 11 after more than 17 years at WBAY-TV in Green Bay. Prior to her time in Northeast Wisconsin, Emily worked as a reporter in Altoona, PA and as an anchor/reporter in Elmira, NY. Her first job out of college was at MSNBC where she worked as a production assistant on what is now known as “MSNBC Investigates.”
A native of Wexford, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh, Emily was a college soccer player at Elon College (now Elon University). She double majored in broadcast communications and journalism, earning her bachelor’s degree in three and a half years.
At eight years old Emily told her parents she wanted to be a news reporter and more than 30 years later, she is still fulfilling that dream. Emily loves reporting because it’s different every day. She’s had the opportunity to pull 9Gs with the USAF Thunderbirds while covering EAA’s AirVenture and her reports have helped to save the lives of several people looking for lifesaving organ donations.
A married mother, Emily loves spending time with her husband and their two sons. She regularly volunteers for different community organizations including the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army. And while she’s lived in the Green Bay area for nearly two decades, this Pittsburgh girl still bleeds black and gold and during football season you can catch her cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
