GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- FOX 11 is proud to once again honor the Best of the Class.

Hundreds of Northeast Wisconsin's top high school graduates gathered at the Lambeau Field Atrium Wednesday.

The event is hosted by FOX 11 News Anchors Mark Leland and Michelle Melby. Other speakers included FOX 11 General Manager Jay Zollar and Green Bay Packers president/CEO Mark Murphy.

Over 300 students from more than 100 high schools were represented in the crowd. They are all the valedictorians, salutatorians and top honors students of 2023.

FOX 11 and the Green Bay Packers have been sponsoring the event for over two decades.

"This is one of the most inspiring things that we do during the year. It's just inspiring," said Zollar. "It's encouraging and it's uplifting, and it's something that we need to associate with and salute."

And Murphy told the graduates to consider returning to Titletown after college.

"You're going to have a lot of option in your to be able to do a lot of different things," said Murphy, "but think about coming back to Green Bay."

After taking videos with FOX 11 talent, students also offered up some advice for younger students.

"I would say just make sure to enjoy the ride," said Jonathan Valliere from Southwest High School. "It's a lot of work, but it's really rewarding in the end."

"It's going to be a lot of sacrifice. You're going to have to give up going out with your friends and other things," said Secquoia Cornelius from Southwest High School. "But at the end of the day, it really is worth it."

Kiersten Prahl from Winneconne High School offered some practical advice as well.

"Don't leave things to the last minute," Prahl cautioned. "It may work when you're a freshman or in middle school."

And Kaylie Wiedmeyer from Winneconne High School shared one of the greatest lessons that show this group is ready for the next chapter.

"At the end of the day, you're so much more than a test grade or an assignment grade," said Wiedmeyer.
