Taylor, accused of offensive language, says she won't quit
Lena Taylor accused the media and the Milwaukee Police Department of racism in an appearance Wednesday with supporters. The Milwaukee Democrat faces a disorderly conduct citation after witnesses said she called a Wells Fargo bank teller a "good house (N-word)" in a dispute over cashing a check. Both Taylor and the teller are black.
Taylor again disputed those accounts and said she used a different word that's similar to "Negro." She says she often refers to friends as "my kind of Negro."
She says the incident "does not speak to my character and who I am."
