A find in a Fond du Lac home leads to a "controlled detonation"
FOND DU LAC (WLUK) – Fond du Lac police purposely set off a small explosion after old military items were found in a home.
Members of the Air National Guard and officials with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms were called in to help.
Officials detonated the items around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. They say a "controlled detonation" happened at Lake Side Park West, near Highway 45.
Authorities say they found multiple items, which they only described as "military ordnance."
Authorities say the public was not in danger while it detonated the items.
