A few minutes later, police were called to Aspen Street Apartments, about two miles from the law office.
Police believe the incidents are domestic related, but provided few details beyond that for why someone was opening fire.
Police did not say which of the locations the victims were killed at.
The victims have not yet been identified.
Authories did say the officer who was killed was from the Everest Metro Police Department.
"As you all know this is a complex and ongoing investigation involving three crime scenes and multiple victims of shootings at those locations. the process has begun to investigate these situations," said Lt. Todd Baeten with the Wausau Police Department.
Schools in the D.C. Everest School District were put on lock down for a few hours.
A number of residents at the apartment scene were evacuated and police say the Red Cross is assisting those displaced.
The investigation is now in the hands of the State Department of Justice.
