WAUSAU (WLUK) -- After being found abandoned and paralyzed on a frozen river, a 10-year-old dog has now found her fur-ever home.

WSAW reports, Juneau was taken into the Humane Society of Marathon County on Jan. 11.

The shelter believes Juneau may have been thrown off a bridge left for dead.

She is paralyzed in both hind legs, but gets around thanks to a wheelchair.

Thursday, Juneau was adopted.

"Every dog deserves a second chance and she's 10 years old, so the likelihood of adoption was less than for some of the puppies that were here. But every dog deserves a second chance, and we hope to give that to her," said adopter, Dylan O'Connor.

O'Connor is a paramedic and works as a medi-vac transport for Aspirus.

O'Connor says that while Juneau needs extra care, he can't wait to give her all the love she needs.
