71st Alice in Dairyland is chosen
(WLUK) -- Kaitlyn Riley was chosen as the state's 71st Alice in Dairyland Saturday.
Riley is from Gays Mills, where she grew up working on her family's dairy farm.
She went to UW-Madison to study strategic communications and broadcast journalism, graduating with honors in 2014.
Now that she has been chosen as Alice in Dairyland, she will be a communications professional for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Her job will be to educate the public about the importance of agriculture in Wisconsin.
Riley says her new position allows her to "give a positive voice to Wisconsin's diverse agriculture industry" and she "will learn from the many faces of agriculture to better educate urban and rural audiences about the importance of Wisconsin food, fuel and fiber production in our daily lives.”
