NEOPIT (WLUK) -- First graders at Menominee Tribal School are making a difference.

It's been more than three months since Hurricane Harvey devastated parts of Texas.

Since then, Shawn Bonnin's class has been raising money for hurricane victims.

Bonnin says she's proud of the generosity her class has shown to people in need.

"They go home, and they say, 'we're saving money for people who don't have a house or don't have' and they come back with money, I think it's amazing that they're able to do that,"' said Shawn Bonnin.

So far, the students have raised $138.
