GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- The coal-fired Pulliam Power Plant in Green Bay is expected to close next fall.

The decision comes at a time where renewable energy is becoming cheaper. There has also been limited to no growth in electricity demand from customers. That's according to WEC Energy Group, the parent company of Wisconsin Public Service, which owns the plant.

Currently, there are 46 employees that work at the plant.

The company says it is evaluating options for the employees once the plant closes.
