ALLOUEZ (WLUK) -- To encourage technical education, the Green Bay Public School District received a donation from Wisconsin Public Service.

The district was given $15,000 from WPS for "Engineering is Elementary" kits.

The kits are designed to allow students to collaborate along with developing their critical thinking and communication skills.

School officials say those skills can then be used in life after school.

"It's real life for our students and it's one of those experiences here in elementary school that you take away knowing that you've constructed the learning," said Green Bay elementary teaching and learning director, Nancy Chartier.

Chartier says every Green Bay district fourth grader will have access to a kit.
