ASHWAUBENON (WLUK) -- We now know a tow truck driver was hit and killed by another car on I-41 near Oneida Street, in Ashwaubenon, on Friday, Jan. 11.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office says Jesse Hettmann, of Green Bay, was working to remove a stalled vehicle on the highway when a driver, from Appleton, hit and killed Hettmann.

The driver was headed north on 41.

The sheriff's office says it's not recommending any charges against the driver at this time.

Glenns Towing, the company Hettmann worked for, said on Facebook "was not only one of the best drivers, he was an amazing friend, husband, and father. Sadly he was taken too soon."

Also on Facebook, an event called "Light’em up for Jesse (Honor Run)" was created. Truck drivers are invited to attend the event to honor Hettmann. The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday at Scheuring Rd. in Lawrence.

Meanwhile, GoFundMe says a fund has been set up to benefit Hettmann's family.
