(WLUK) -- The University of Wisconsin's Green Bay and Oshkosh campuses will provide thousands of rapid COVID-19 tests as part of a partnership between the UW System and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The universities join others across Wisconsin that will host free COVID-19 surge testing.

UW System announced Wednesday it has been provided 250,000 rapid tests. UWGB says it received more than 12,000 tests, while UWO did not provide a number.

The tests are said to provide results within 15 minutes.

UWGB says testing will be available in a drive-thru fashion near the Weidner Center. Testing will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Monday, Nov. 9, according to the university.

UWO says it is setting up a test site at the Culver Family Welcome Center. Testing, which will also begin Monday, Nov. 9, will be available Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with about 800 tests provided per day.

Testing for students living in residence halls will continue at Albee Hall, UWO says.

Anyone age five and older is eligible to be tested regardless of COVID-19 symptoms.
