U.S. Marshals: Wanted man could be hiding in Wisconsin campgrounds
NEW HOLSTEIN (WLUK) -- Officials are asking those out camping this summer in Calumet County to be on the lookout for a wanted man who could be hiding there.
U.S. Marshals have been searching for 38-year-old Dallas Christel since March.
Officials say Christel is wanted for a number of charges including second-degree sexual assault, strangulation and suffocation.
Prosecutors say in May 2017, Christel raped and then strangled a woman in New Holstein during a domestic abuse incident.
Christel is a repeat offender of domestic abuse and also has multiple narcotic violations, officials say.
Investigators say Christel has ties to Michigan and Colorado but is most likely in Wisconsin, hiding in campgrounds.
In Christel's last mugshot, his hair was painted green. His body is covered in distinctive tattoos, including stars, skulls and spider webs and a star with a circle on the left side of his neck.
If you see Christel, contact your local authorities.
