(WLUK) -- A U.P. man was sentenced for receiving packages of drugs from Arizona.

William John "Billy" Strauss, 34, of Daggett, was sentenced to four to 15 years in prison for possession of methamphetamine.

The investigation into Strauss began in June 2022 when detectives learned he was receiving meth and fentanyl pills through the mail.

On June 13, 2022, a package was intercepted by the U.S. Postal Inspector's Office in Green Bay.

A federal search warrant found the package contained a red teddy bear containing 3 g of crystal meth and 10 blue Oxycodone pills.

A second search warrant was executed after the package was delivered to Strauss' home. Investigators say that it had been opened and placed on the kitchen counter. Strauss, who was found hiding in the basement, admitted that he had received previous packages in the mail from Arizona, and that the packages usually contained Methamphetamine and Percocet pills, officials say.
