Students make blankets for children at hospital
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Students at Notre Dame Academy spent time making blankets and cards to donate to children at a Madison hospital.
It's all part of a project led by Notre Dame Academy sophomore Sydney Ditcheit.
She was inspired to lead the project after she was hospitalized following a UTV crash in 2016.
She said she received blankets while she was in the hospital.
Following her stay, her and her friends led a fundraiser at the school to raise money to buy fabric.
"We have enough fabric to make 40 blankets and then we've already made 15 in the past so a total of 55," Ditcheit explained.
Ditscheit also revived a $500 grant from "Youth Service America" and "Walt Disney Company" to help with the project.
The group will deliver the blankets to the American Family Children's Hospital later this week.
