"It's a mixed of emotions but i'm happy to be here," Jensen said. "You know it is sad to leave family behind and to go into some dangerous situation, but I have no regrets about being in the Army, and 'm proud to serve my country," he said.
Kimberly Bower also said goodbye to her son Nick on Friday, and said while she is sad to see him go she is very proud.
"We are very proud of both of our boys especially Nicholas with his first deployment. We are just happy that they are carrying on the tradition and wanting to serve this country, it's something we have tried to instill," Bower said.
Before heading to Kuwait, the soldiers will be going to base in Texas for more training and they anticipate heading overseas in the middle of the month.
