Semi goes off Interstate; driver pronounced dead
BELLEVUE (WLUK) -- A semi driver is dead following a crash in Brown County.
Sheriff's officials say the crash happened Tuesday morning along Interstate 43 about a mile north of Hwy. MM. Investigators say the truck was headed north on I-43 when it went off the road and rolled over about 1,000 feet off the roadway in a deep ravine.
The trailer of the semi was not loaded, Bellevue Fire says.
The semi driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the truck.
The hazmat unit was called to clean up any fuel leaks occurring from the rollover.
One lane of I-43 was closed for about six hours after the crash as authorities investigated.
