TOWN OF VINLAND, Wis. (WLUK) -- A baby died after a semi tractor/trailer crashed into a home in Winnebago County.
Officials say just before 6 p.m. Monday, a semi tractor/trailer was traveling southbound on I-41 when it left the road, crossed a frontage road and crashed into a home with people inside on Green Valley Road in the town of Vinland, just north of Oshkosh.
Deputies confirmed Tuesday morning, an eight-month-old baby boy inside the home died in the crash.
The driver of the semi tractor/trailer, a 63-year-old Little Chute man, sustained minor injuries.
A woman identifying herself as the driver's daughter told FOX 11 he is "mentally torn up about the situation." The woman, who asked not to be identified, declined to answer questions about what led to the crash.
Investigators were on scene for more than 10 hours after the crash.
Roads around the crash reopened around 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Deputies say no further information will be released at this time.
