GREEN BAY, Wis. (WLUK) -- FOX 11 has learned the Menasha and Kaukauna school districts have terminated their working relationship with Adam Westbrook.
We reported last week about Westbrook's arrest, and how it is part of an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.
Adam Westbrook remains in the Sauk County Jail, after being taken into custody last week. He's being held on four counts of possession of child pornography and four counts of sexual exploitation of a child.
Formal charges have not yet been filed, but authorities tell FOX 11 his arrest is part of a larger investigation that was started by the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office.
At the time of his arrest last week, FOX 11 learned Adam Westbrook was working with students in both the Kaukauna and Menasha School Districts.
The Kaukauna Area School District superintendent telling FOX 11 Westbrook was the assistant director of the River View Middle School musical, which is currently in production.
It's a paid volunteer position that we're told Westbrook has worked on six times since 2010.
In a statement sent to Kaukauna families, last Friday, the superintendent said,
This afternoon, we were made aware of pending charges in Sauk County against Adam Westbrook. Mr. Westbrook was the assistant director for the River View musical this year. Moving forward, he will no longer be assisting with the musical. We will continue to monitor the situation in Sauk County.
Westbrook we learned was also the director and choreographer of the high school musical at Menasha High School.
Also a paid volunteer position, it's a program the district said Westbrook has led as director and choreographer since the 2020-2022 school year.
In a communication sent to high school parents last week, the district said it was aware of pending charges against Westbrook, adding,
This afternoon we were made aware of pending charges against Adam Westbrook. Adam Westbrook was assigned as an at-will co-curricular advisor for the Menasha High School Musical. We are shocked by the charges. Mr. Adam Westbrook will not be assisting further with the musical. We will continue to cooperate with authorities and do all that we can to assist in the investigation. Counselors are available for students who may struggle upon hearing this difficult news.
While both districts are cooperating with the investigation, there are no known allegations against Westbrook involving students at those schools.
His work with music theater students was only a part time job, Westbrook was also the human resources director for Outagamie County, a position he's held since September of 2023.
Outagamie County executive, Tom Nelson, tells FOX 11:
Adam Westbrook resigned on Saturday, February 17 and is no longer associated with the county. We will continue to cooperate with authorities and do all we can to assist in the investigation.
