Registration open for 'Bike to the Beat'
(WLUK) -- A ride that combines music and cycling is returning.
Registration for Fox Communities Credit Union's 'Bike to the Beat' is now open.
The Aug. 7 event offers in-person and virtual bike ride options at two starting locations: Combined Locks or De Pere. Participants of all ages and abilities will choose routes from five to 57 miles that feature live, original music from Mile of Music artists.
“New starting lines, an updated route, great music, and amazing food are just a few things to look forward to this year,” said Heather Wessley, community engagement manager and event organizer at Fox Communities Credit Union. “With a multitude of new bike riders since the pandemic, this event may fill up quickly, so we’re encouraging interested participants to register early.”
The in-person ride will incorporate social distancing guidelines and the registration will be capped. Participants uncomfortable with the in-person setting are encouraged to register for the virtual event with the same routes as in-person attendees. The online event will be August 8-31.
Registration fees are donated to the Fox Cares Foundation, a community support initiative issuing grants to nonprofits aiming to alleviate homelessness, support individuals with food insecurity, and culture the arts in children and adults.
