Over $2.8 million awarded to Wisconsin schools in safety grants

GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Attorney General Brad Schimel announced the 40 schools receiving over $2.8 million in grants.

It was at the Notre Dame Academy in Green Bay Tuesday afternoon.

It's part of the state's Department of Justice School Safety Grant program. Tuesday was the next wave of the grants, with more to follow soon.

The DOJ's website lists all 735 schools that asked for the grants.

Here's the 40 schools and school districts that were awarded Tuesday.

Schimel says the grants will aid in improving safety, as well as responding to mental health crises.
