Oneida Nation welcomes visitors with Big Apple Fest
ONEIDA (WLUK) -- The Oneida Nation welcomed the first day of fall with Big Apple Fest.
Saturday's event offered horse and wagon rides, a farmers market, apple pie contest, face painting and petting zoo.
Visitors could also pick their own apples from the orchard.
"Today's turnout is the largest I've ever seen but then again, it's the first day of fall, nice, kind of, crisp weather but still you can wear a sweatshirt and the sun is out. The kids are having a great time," said Michelle Danforth Anderson, Oneida Nation marketing and tourism director.
Danforth Anderson says the event is a way to give back to the community.
