GREEN BAY (WLUK) – The daughter of a state legislator pleaded not guilty Monday to delivering the drugs which killed a pregnant woman.

Cassie Nygren faces 10 counts, including first-degree reckless homicide, for the June death of Jennifer Skeen. Skeen overdosed on fentanyl, investigators have said.

No trial date was set. She returns to court April 17.

Nygren’s attorney also filed a motion seeking a change of venue from Brown County.

Her boyfriend, Shawn Gray, is also charged in the case. He returns to court Thursday for a status hearing.

Nygren's father, State Rep. John Nygren, has used his daughter's battle with heroin addiction as inspiration for a range of legislation aimed at combating the heroin epidemic.
