NWTC students collecting books and blankets for kids
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Area students training to be nurses are making a difference for children in the hospital.
The Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Student Nursing Association kicked off its 4th annual Books and Blankets campaign.
Each year, students collect donations of books and fleece fabric to make blankets.
Those donations will then be delivered to area hospitals to children in December.
Organizers say they enjoy helping out children during the holiday season.
"I really enjoy helping out because it really helps out our community, helps these kids to have some comfort at this time when they are in the hospital which can be a scary time for kids," said event organizer, Amanda Czarnecki.
Dropboxes for books and blankets are available on the NWTC Green Bay campus.
