Neenah Police: Charges referred against mother of wandering child

NEENAH (WLUK) -- Neenah police say charges are being referred against a mother after her child was found wandering alone near an intersection.

Police say the child was found near the intersection of Lake Street and Main Street around 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The child was taken to the Neenah Police Department and Child Protective Services was contacted, police say.

According to authorities, the mother called the police department hours after the child was found.

Police say at this time, they are not releasing any further information.
