MILWAUKEE (WLUK) -- A specialty beer brewed with kringle from Northeast Wisconsin is once again being released, this time in honor of a locally famous baker.
MobCraft Beer of Milwaukee is collaborating with Uncle Mike's Bake Shoppe of De Pere to create Kringle Monster Imperial Pastry Stout. The batch uses 800 pounds of raspberries and 360 pounds of Uncle Mike's raspberry kringle.
This is the third time MobCraft has used Uncle Mike's kringle in a beer, and the first since "Uncle Mike" Vande Walle died last December.
"We brewed this beer in collaboration with Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe, and we dedicate it to Uncle Mike who passed away from Covid in December 2020. Mike, we raise this beer to you and your family: may your smiling face be always in our memories, and your tasty kringle in our bellies. You are sincerely missed," MobCraft president Henry Schwartz said in a news release.
The beer will be available in MobCraft's taproom beginning Nov. 26.
