Menominee Indian Tribe elects new chairman

KESHENA (WLUK) -- The Menominee Indian Tribe has elected a new chairman.

Doug Cox was voted as the new chairman at the tribe's annual Menominee Tribal Legislature Reorganization Meeting Friday.

Cox replaces 2017 chairman, Gary Besaw.

In addition, Craig Corn was elected vice-chairman and Crystal Chapman-Chevalier was elected as tribal secretary.

Returning elected legislators, Gary Besaw Myrna Warrington and Joan Delabreau, were also sworn in Friday.

Each legislative officer will serve one year.
