Waupaca man convicted of 14th OWI sentenced
WAUPACA (WLUK) -- A Waupaca man convicted of his 14th drunk driving offense was sentenced to six years in prison.
Daniel Nordell, 64, was also placed on extended supervision for five years Monday.
On May 24, Nordell was arrested after hitting a mailbox, a speed limit sign and utility pole in Farmington. A preliminary breath test – which isn’t admissible in court – revealed a BAC of .17%, more than double the usual legal limit, and well above the .02% limit he had due to previous convictions, officials say.
In his previous 2006 conviction, Nordell was sentenced to three years in prison.
