LITTLE CHUTE (WLUK) -- A charter school in Little Chute is working with a national foundation to help kids this holiday season.

Flex Academy students and families participated in a project with the Snowdrop Foundation.

As part of the project students went door to door in their neighborhoods asking for comfort items, toys and fleece.

The students collected 400 donations and more than 50 tie blankets to children at the Children's Hospital in Milwaukee.

"It's a wonderful feeling when you can see children selflessly give away toys because of all the things kids can collect that probably are the most difficult for them to give away and all of these kids have been just so happy to provide a Christmas for other kids," said Laura Gruender of the Snowdrop Foundation Wisconsin.

The donations will be given to children at the Milwaukee Children's Hospital on Dec. 16.
