GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Green Bay leaders are optimistic about the city's growth downtown.
Staff of the Olde Main Street District held its annual State of the Street Review luncheon Thursday.
Officials talked about the area's future and notable projects taking shape.
“It seems like it’s a great year for downtown. All three districts seem to have nice vibrancy. We’re hearing that beyond the borders of our county, people are talking about Green Bay. We’re really pleased to know that Green Bay’s downtown and Main Street District and throughout downtown, has some good energy and a lot of confidence," said Downtown Green Bay executive director, Jeff Mirkes.
Mirkes says 2020 will bring at least two new restaurants to the district, one having a patio overlooking the East River.
Another project that will see some real progress this year is connecting the East River Trail with CityDeck.
Mirkes also expects the East River Trail Plaza, located on the south side of Main Street, between Baird St. and Irwin Ave., to break ground this year.
