OSHKOSH, Wis. (WLUK) -- Seven Lawrence University music students performed two jazz concerts for inmates at Oshkosh Correctional Institute Wednesday.

The performances are part of the Department of Corrections' commitment to providing positive opportunities for inmates.

It also builds partnerships between the DOC and the community.

"The cool thing about a school like Lawrence is that any student who goes there would be super into performing here, super into doing any kind of community outreach because if you're studying music at Lawrence, you're studying music just to brighten people's days," said student, Ben Portzen.

This is the second year the Oshkosh Correctional Institute has welcomed Lawrence University students to perform.
