Fans of the "Making a Murderer" series have begun posting online some of the files from the Steven Avery murder trial.

In 2007, Avery was convicted of the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach. Avery's nephew, Brendan Dassey, was convicted of his role in the murder in a separate trial.

The case has recently drawn national attention with the release of the 10-part series on the video streaming service Netflix.

The files posted online include transcripts from the trial, evidence photos and other documents.

According to the website, it was "created in January 2016 by Skipp Topp and friends ... Like many others, we became aware of and interested in the Steven Avery case after seeing the very popular Netflix series Making a Murderer, and we wanted to know more about what really happened in the trial." The website claims that organizers conducted a public fundraising campaign to pay for copies of the documents.
