HOWARD (WLUK) -- Some younger chefs faced off in a cooking challenge and those attending were the lucky ones who got to sample the goods.

The fourth annual Culinary Challenge at the Rock Garden in Howard is a friendly competition between teams from Pulaski and Preble High Schools.

The students create appetizers, one hot, and one cold, for the judges and everyone else to try.

Each school brings five teams.

Organizers say it's a great way to highlight the culinary programs and young talent in the area.

"What we're trying to do with this event is to recognize the talent of these young students and hope they will stay in the community and actually work here and begin their career in the Green Bay area," said event organizer, Jessica Diederich.

The money raised from the event is equally split between the schools.

Pulaski won the traveling trophy Tuesday night by selling the most tickets to the event.

FOX 11's Michelle Melby was happy to once again be the emcee for the event and honorary taste-tester.
