Walker's office says he will sign Lambeau tax refund bill
Governor Scott Walker's office says he will sign the Lambeau Field tax refund bill when it reaches his desk.
The state Assembly approved the bill Tuesday night.
The bill would return more than $17 million in excess Lambeau Field taxes to Brown County taxpayers and local government.
The half-cent Brown County sales tax began in January 2001 to help pay for stadium upgrades.
The tax ended this spring but retailers could keep collecting it until September, resulting in $17.6 million in excess taxes.
