Kitsune Kon comes to Green Bay

GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- If you like video games, Green Bay is the place to be this weekend.

"Kitsune Kon" kicked off at the K-I Convention Center Friday.

FOX 11's Brittany Ford checked out the annual event, and has a look at what you can expect to see.

Cartoon characters, superheros, everything animated has invaded the KI Convention Center in downtown Green Bay.

"Kitsune Kon" kicked off Friday.

The convention, which originated in Appleton, is now in it's seventh year and has nearly doubled in size since its inception.

"In our first year we had a 1,042 people, and now were looking at over three thousand, it's just phenomenal,"said Mike Nettekoven Kitsune Kon Director.

The three day convention features a variety of activities for video gaming fans.

Including multiple game rooms, sword fighting, as well as the opportunity to meet actual voice actors in the industry.

Nettekoven says this year the convention is bigger than ever.

"We have tripled the size of our table top room. We increased our programming rooms, we brought in more guest like DC Douglas, and Erin Fitzgerald, "said Nettekoven.

Besides having just over four thousand video games at their disposal attendee's to the conference say they come for more than just the video games.

Sarah Dahlke of Hampton, Virginia drove nearly 20-hours all to get her fix of Halloween in July.

"Just met new people, seeing all the different types of outfits that are out there, and just getting dressed up, I look for any opportunity to get dressed up," said Sarah.

The convention runs through this Sunday.. and is open to people of all ages.
